Daily Devotional 1 Year Bible GEN_23:1 And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: [these were] the years of the life of Sarah. GEN_23:2 And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same [is] Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. GEN_23:3 And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, GEN_23:4 I [am] a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. GEN_23:5 And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him, GEN_23:6 Hear us, my lord: thou [art] a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. GEN_23:7 And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, [even] to the children of Heth. GEN_23:8 And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and entreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, GEN_23:9 That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which [is] in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. GEN_23:10 And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, [even] of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, GEN_23:11 Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that [is] therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead. GEN_23:12 And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land. GEN_23:13 And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou [wilt give it], I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take [it] of me, and I will bury my dead there. GEN_23:14 And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him, GEN_23:15 My lord, hearken unto me: the land [is worth] four hundred shekels of silver; what [is] that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead. GEN_23:16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current [money] with the merchant. GEN_23:17 And the field of Ephron, which [was] in Machpelah, which [was] before Mamre, the field, and the cave which [was] therein, and all the trees that [were] in the field, that [were] in all the borders round about, were made sure GEN_23:18 Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city. GEN_23:19 And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same [is] Hebron in the land of Canaan. GEN_23:20 And the field, and the cave that [is] therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth. GEN_24:1 And Abraham was old, [and] well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. GEN_24:2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: GEN_24:3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: GEN_24:4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. GEN_24:5 And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? GEN_24:6 And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again. GEN_24:7 The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. GEN_24:8 And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again. GEN_24:9 And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter. GEN_24:10 And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master [were] in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. GEN_24:11 And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, [even] the time that women go out to draw [water]. GEN_24:12 And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham. GEN_24:13 Behold, I stand [here] by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: GEN_24:14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: [let the same be] she [that] thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master. GEN_24:15 And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. GEN_24:16 And the damsel [was] very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. GEN_24:17 And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher. GEN_24:18 And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. GEN_24:19 And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw [water] for thy camels also, until they have done drinking. GEN_24:20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw [water], and drew for all his camels. GEN_24:21 And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not. GEN_24:22 And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten [shekels] weight of gold; GEN_24:23 And said, Whose daughter [art] thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room [in] thy father's house for us to lodge in? GEN_24:24 And she said unto him, I [am] the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor. GEN_24:25 She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in. GEN_24:26 And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD. GEN_24:27 And he said, Blessed [be] the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I [being] in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren. GEN_24:28 And the damsel ran, and told [them of] her mother's house these things. GEN_24:29 And Rebekah had a brother, and his name [was] Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well. GEN_24:30 And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well. GEN_24:31 And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels. GEN_24:32 And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that [were] with him. GEN_24:33 And there was set [meat] before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on. GEN_24:34 And he said, I [am] Abraham's servant. GEN_24:35 And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses. GEN_24:36 And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath. GEN_24:37 And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell: MAT_7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: MAT_7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. MAT_7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: MAT_7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. MAT_7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: MAT_7:29 For he taught them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes. MAT_8:1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. MAT_8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. MAT_8:3 And Jesus put forth [his] hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. MAT_8:4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. MAT_8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, MAT_8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. MAT_8:7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. MAT_8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. MAT_8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this [man], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it]. MAT_8:10 When Jesus heard [it], he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. MAT_8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. MAT_8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. MAT_8:13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. MAT_8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. MAT_8:15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. MAT_8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick: PSA_7:3 O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands; PSA_7:4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:) PSA_7:5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take [it]; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah. PSA_7:6 Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me [to] the judgment [that] thou hast commanded. PSA_7:7 So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high. PSA_7:8 The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity [that is] in me. PRO_1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; PRO_1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: PRO_1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; MATJ_5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? MATJ_5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so? MATJ_5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. MATJ_6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. MATJ_6:2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
