Daily Devotional 1 Year Bible ECC_7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. ECC_7:10 Say not thou, What is [the cause] that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this. ECC_7:11 Wisdom [is] good with an inheritance: and [by it there is] profit to them that see the sun. ECC_7:12 For wisdom [is] a defence, [and] money [is] a defence: but the excellency of knowledge [is, that] wisdom giveth life to them that have it. ECC_7:13 Consider the work of God: for who can make [that] straight, which he hath made crooked? ECC_7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. ECC_7:15 All [things] have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just [man] that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked [man] that prolongeth [his life] in his wickedness. ECC_7:16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? ECC_7:17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? ECC_7:18 [It is] good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all. ECC_7:19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty [men] which are in the city. ECC_7:20 For [there is] not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. ECC_7:21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: ECC_7:22 For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others. ECC_7:23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it [was] far from me. ECC_7:24 That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out? ECC_7:25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason [of things], and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness [and] madness: ECC_7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart [is] snares and nets, [and] her hands [as] bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. ECC_7:27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, [counting] one by one, to find out the account: ECC_7:28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found. ECC_7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. ECC_8:1 Who [is] as the wise [man]? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. ECC_8:2 I [counsel thee] to keep the king's commandment, and [that] in regard of the oath of God. ECC_8:3 Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. ECC_8:4 Where the word of a king [is, there is] power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? ECC_8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. ECC_8:6 Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man [is] great upon him. ECC_8:7 For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be? ECC_8:8 [There is] no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither [hath he] power in the day of death: and [there is] no discharge in [that] war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. ECC_8:9 All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: [there is] a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt. ECC_8:10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this [is] also vanity. ECC_8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. ECC_8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his [days] be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: ECC_8:13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong [his] days, [which are] as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. ECC_8:14 There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just [men], unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked [men], to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also [is] vanity. ECC_8:15 Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun. ECC_8:16 When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also [there is that] neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:) ECC_8:17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek [it] out, yet he shall not find [it]; yea farther; though a wise [man] think to know [it], yet shall he not be able to find [it]. ECC_9:1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, [are] in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred [by] all [that is] before them. ECC_9:2 All [things come] alike to all: [there is] one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as [is] the good, so [is] the sinner; [and] he that sweareth, as [he] that feareth an oath. ECC_9:3 This [is] an evil among all [things] that are done under the sun, that [there is] one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness [is] in their heart while they live, and after that [they go] to the dead. ECC_9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. ECC_9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. ECC_9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun. ECC_9:7 Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. ECC_9:8 Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. ECC_9:9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that [is] thy portion in [this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. ECC_9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. ECC_9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. ECC_9:12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so [are] the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. ECC_9:13 This wisdom have I seen also under the sun, and it [seemed] great unto me: ECC_9:14 [There was] a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: ECC_9:15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. ECC_9:16 Then said I, Wisdom [is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom [is] despised, and his words are not heard. ECC_9:17 The words of wise [men are] heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. ECC_9:18 Wisdom [is] better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good. 1CO_9:3 Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 1CO_9:4 Have we not power to eat and to drink? 1CO_9:5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and [as] the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 1CO_9:6 Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 1CO_9:7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 1CO_9:8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 1CO_9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 1CO_9:10 Or saith he [it] altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, [this] is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 1CO_9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, [is it] a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 1CO_9:12 If others be partakers of [this] power over you, [are] not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 1CO_9:13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live [of the things] of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 1CO_9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 1CO_9:15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for [it were] better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 1CO_9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 1CO_9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation [of the gospel] is committed unto me. 1CO_9:18 What is my reward then? [Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 1CO_9:19 For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 1CO_9:20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 1CO_9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 1CO_9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some. PSA_104:18 The high hills [are] a refuge for the wild goats; [and] the rocks for the conies. PSA_104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. PSA_104:20 Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep [forth]. PSA_104:21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God. PSA_104:22 The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens. PSA_104:23 Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. PSA_104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. PSA_104:25 [So is] this great and wide sea, wherein [are] things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. PRO_22:22 Rob not the poor, because he [is] poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: PRO_22:23 For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. PRO_22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: LUKJ_18:32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: LUKJ_18:33 And they shall scourge [him], and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. LUKJ_18:41 What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? LUKJ_18:42 Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. LUKJ_19:5 Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. LUKJ_19:9 This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. LUKJ_19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
