Daily Devotional 1 Year Bible ISA_28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. ISA_28:10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little: ISA_28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. ISA_28:12 To whom he said, This [is] the rest [wherewith] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear. ISA_28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. ISA_28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which [is] in Jerusalem. ISA_28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: ISA_28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. ISA_28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. ISA_28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. ISA_28:19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only [to] understand the report. ISA_28:20 For the bed is shorter than that [a man] can stretch himself [on it]: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself [in it]. ISA_28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as [in] mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as [in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. ISA_28:22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth. ISA_28:23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech. ISA_28:24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground? ISA_28:25 When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place? ISA_28:26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, [and] doth teach him. ISA_28:27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod. ISA_28:28 Bread [corn] is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break [it with] the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it [with] his horsemen. ISA_28:29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, [which] is wonderful in counsel, [and] excellent in working. ISA_29:1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city [where] David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. ISA_29:2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. ISA_29:3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. ISA_29:4 And thou shalt be brought down, [and] shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust. ISA_29:5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones [shall be] as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly. ISA_29:6 Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire. ISA_29:7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision. ISA_29:8 It shall even be as when an hungry [man] dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, [he is] faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion. ISA_29:9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. ISA_29:10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. ISA_29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed: ISA_29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. ISA_29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: ISA_29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, [even] a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise [men] shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent [men] shall be hid. ISA_29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? ISA_29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? ISA_29:17 [Is] it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest? ISA_29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. ISA_29:19 The meek also shall increase [their] joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. ISA_29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: ISA_29:21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought. ISA_29:22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. ISA_29:23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. ISA_29:24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine. ISA_30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: ISA_30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! ISA_30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt [your] confusion. ISA_30:4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes. ISA_30:5 They were all ashamed of a people [that] could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach. ISA_30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence [come] the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people [that] shall not profit [them]. 2CO_2:14 Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 2CO_2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 2CO_2:16 To the one [we are] the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who [is] sufficient for these things? 2CO_2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. 2CO_3:1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some [others], epistles of commendation to you, or [letters] of commendation from you? 2CO_3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 2CO_3:3 [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 2CO_3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 2CO_3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God; 2CO_3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2CO_3:7 But if the ministration of death, written [and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which [glory] was to be done away: 2CO_3:8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 2CO_3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation [be] glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 2CO_3:10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 2CO_3:11 For if that which is done away [was] glorious, much more that which remaineth [is] glorious. 2CO_3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 2CO_3:13 And not as Moses, [which] put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 2CO_3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [veil] is done away in Christ. 2CO_3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. 2CO_3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. 2CO_3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. 2CO_3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord. PSA_106:39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. PSA_106:40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance. PSA_106:41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them. PSA_106:42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. PSA_106:43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked [him] with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. PSA_106:44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry: PSA_106:45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. PRO_23:28 She also lieth in wait as [for] a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men. PRO_23:29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? LUKJ_21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. LUKJ_21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. LUKJ_21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. LUKJ_21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
