Daily Devotional 1 Year Bible
  • ECC_10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: [so doth] a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom [and] honour.

  • ECC_10:2 A wise man's heart [is] at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.

  • ECC_10:3 Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth [him], and he saith to every one [that] he [is] a fool.

  • ECC_10:4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.

  • ECC_10:5 There is an evil [which] I have seen under the sun, as an error [which] proceedeth from the ruler:

  • ECC_10:6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.

  • ECC_10:7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

  • ECC_10:8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

  • ECC_10:9 Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; [and] he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered thereby.

  • ECC_10:10 If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom [is] profitable to direct.

  • ECC_10:11 Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.

  • ECC_10:12 The words of a wise man's mouth [are] gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

  • ECC_10:13 The beginning of the words of his mouth [is] foolishness: and the end of his talk [is] mischievous madness.

  • ECC_10:14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?

  • ECC_10:15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.

  • ECC_10:16 Woe to thee, O land, when thy king [is] a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!

  • ECC_10:17 Blessed [art] thou, O land, when thy king [is] the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!

  • ECC_10:18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

  • ECC_10:19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all [things].

  • ECC_10:20 Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.

  • ECC_11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

  • ECC_11:2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

  • ECC_11:3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty [themselves] upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.

  • ECC_11:4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

  • ECC_11:5 As thou knowest not what [is] the way of the spirit, [nor] how the bones [do grow] in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

  • ECC_11:6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both [shall be] alike good.

  • ECC_11:7 Truly the light [is] sweet, and a pleasant [thing it is] for the eyes to behold the sun:

  • ECC_11:8 But if a man live many years, [and] rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh [is] vanity.

  • ECC_11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these [things] God will bring thee into judgment.

  • ECC_11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth [are] vanity.

  • ECC_12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

  • ECC_12:2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

  • ECC_12:3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

  • ECC_12:4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;

  • ECC_12:5 Also [when] they shall be afraid of [that which is] high, and fears [shall be] in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

  • ECC_12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

  • ECC_12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

  • ECC_12:8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all [is] vanity.

  • ECC_12:9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, [and] set in order many proverbs.

  • ECC_12:10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and [that which was] written [was] upright, [even] words of truth.

  • ECC_12:11 The words of the wise [are] as goads, and as nails fastened [by] the masters of assemblies, [which] are given from one shepherd.

  • ECC_12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books [there is] no end; and much study [is] a weariness of the flesh.

  • ECC_12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.

  • ECC_12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.

  • SON_1:1 The song of songs, which [is] Solomon's.

  • SON_1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love [is] better than wine.

  • SON_1:3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name [is as] ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

  • SON_1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

  • SON_1:5 I [am] black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.

  • SON_1:6 Look not upon me, because I [am] black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; [but] mine own vineyard have I not kept.

  • SON_1:7 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest [thy flock] to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

  • SON_1:8 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.

  • SON_1:9 I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.

  • SON_1:10 Thy cheeks are comely with rows [of jewels], thy neck with chains [of gold].

  • SON_1:11 We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.

  • SON_1:12 While the king [sitteth] at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.

  • SON_1:13 A bundle of myrrh [is] my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.

  • SON_1:14 My beloved [is] unto me [as] a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.

  • SON_1:15 Behold, thou [art] fair, my love; behold, thou [art] fair; thou [hast] doves' eyes.

  • SON_1:16 Behold, thou [art] fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed [is] green.

  • SON_1:17 The beams of our house [are] cedar, [and] our rafters of fir.

  • SON_2:1 I [am] the rose of Sharon, [and] the lily of the valleys.

  • SON_2:2 As the lily among thorns, so [is] my love among the daughters.

  • SON_2:3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so [is] my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit [was] sweet to my taste.

  • SON_2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me [was] love.

  • SON_2:5 Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I [am] sick of love.

  • 1CO_9:23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you].

  • 1CO_9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

  • 1CO_9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

  • 1CO_9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

  • 1CO_9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

  • 1CO_10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

  • 1CO_10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

  • 1CO_10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

  • 1CO_10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

  • 1CO_10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

  • 1CO_10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

  • 1CO_10:7 Neither be ye idolaters, as [were] some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

  • 1CO_10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

  • 1CO_10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

  • 1CO_10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

  • 1CO_10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

  • 1CO_10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

  • 1CO_10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

  • 1CO_10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

  • 1CO_10:15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

  • 1CO_10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

  • 1CO_10:17 For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

  • 1CO_10:18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

  • 1CO_10:19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

  • PSA_104:26 There go the ships: [there is] that leviathan, [whom] thou hast made to play therein.

  • PSA_104:27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give [them] their meat in due season.

  • PSA_104:28 [That] thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

  • PSA_104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

  • PSA_104:30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

  • PSA_104:31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

  • PSA_104:32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

  • PRO_22:25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

  • PRO_22:26 Be not thou [one] of them that strike hands, [or] of them that are sureties for debts.

  • PRO_22:27 If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

  • LUKJ_19:12 A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

  • LUKJ_19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

  • LUKJ_19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this [man] to reign over us.

  • LUKJ_19:15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

  • LUKJ_19:16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
