Daily Devotional 1 Year Bible EST_2:10 Esther had not showed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not show [it]. EST_2:11 And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women's house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her. EST_2:12 Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, [to wit], six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with [other] things for the purifying of the women;) EST_2:13 Then thus came [every] maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king's house. EST_2:14 In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king's chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name. EST_2:15 Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. EST_2:16 So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which [is] the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. EST_2:17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. EST_2:18 Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, [even] Esther's feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king. EST_2:19 And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the king's gate. EST_2:20 Esther had not [yet] showed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him. EST_2:21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king's gate, two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. EST_2:22 And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told [it] unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king [thereof] in Mordecai's name. EST_2:23 And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king. EST_3:1 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that [were] with him. EST_3:2 And all the king's servants, that [were] in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did [him] reverence. EST_3:3 Then the king's servants, which [were] in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment? EST_3:4 Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he [was] a Jew. EST_3:5 And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath. EST_3:6 And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had showed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that [were] throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, [even] the people of Mordecai. EST_3:7 In the first month, that [is], the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that [is], the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, [to] the twelfth [month], that [is], the month Adar. EST_3:8 And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws [are] diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it [is] not for the king's profit to suffer them. EST_3:9 If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring [it] into the king's treasuries. EST_3:10 And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy. EST_3:11 And the king said unto Haman, The silver [is] given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee. EST_3:12 Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that [were] over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and [to] every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. EST_3:13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, [even] upon the thirteenth [day] of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and [to take] the spoil of them for a prey. EST_3:14 The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day. EST_3:15 The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed. EST_4:1 When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; EST_4:2 And came even before the king's gate: for none [might] enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. EST_4:3 And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, [there was] great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. EST_4:4 So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told [it] her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received [it] not. EST_4:5 Then called Esther for Hatach, [one] of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it [was], and why it [was]. EST_4:6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which [was] before the king's gate. EST_4:7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them. EST_4:8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to show [it] unto Esther, and to declare [it] unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people. EST_4:9 And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai. EST_4:10 Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai; EST_4:11 All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, [there is] one law of his to put [him] to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days. EST_4:12 And they told to Mordecai Esther's words. EST_4:13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. EST_4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, [then] shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for [such] a time as this? EST_4:15 Then Esther bade [them] return Mordecai [this answer], EST_4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which [is] not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. ROM_8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. ROM_8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. ROM_8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ROM_8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is n Christ Jesus our Lord. ROM_9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, ROM_9:2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. ROM_9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: ROM_9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises; ROM_9:5 Whose [are] the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ [came], who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. ROM_9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they [are] not all Israel, which are of Israel: ROM_9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, [are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. ROM_9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these [are] not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. ROM_9:9 For this [is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. ROM_9:10 And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac; ROM_9:11 (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) ROM_9:12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. ROM_9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. ROM_9:14 What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid. ROM_9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. ROM_9:16 So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. ROM_9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. ROM_9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth. ROM_9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? PSA_95:11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. PSA_96:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. PSA_96:2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day. PSA_96:3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. PSA_96:4 For the LORD [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be feared above all gods. PSA_96:5 For all the gods of the nations [are] idols: but the LORD made the heavens. PSA_96:6 Honour and majesty [are] before him: strength and beauty [are] in his sanctuary. PSA_96:7 Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. PRO_21:12 The righteous [man] wisely considereth the house of the wicked: [but God] overthroweth the wicked for [their] wickedness. PRO_21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. LUKJ_15:25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. LUKJ_15:26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. LUKJ_15:27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. LUKJ_15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him. LUKJ_15:29 And he answering said to [his] father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
